Die im Januar 2006 ausgelieferte Taschenbuchausgabe von Tänenmond erreichte innerhalb von drei Wochen Platz 33 der Bestsellerlisten. Das Taschenbuch erreichte die dritte Auflage innerhalb von acht Wochen. Unterdessen ist die vierte Auflage im Buchhandel. Aktuell wurde die Weltbild-Ausgabe ausgeliefert.

Im August 2004 erschien Tränenmond beim Sirene Verlag in Holland und eroberte sofort die Bestsellerlisten. Titel: Dochter van Agadir. Unterdessen gibt es auch eine Taschenbuchausgabe. www.sirene.nl

Ouarda Saillo was born in the house of her Berber grandmother on the edge of the Moroccan Sahara in 1974. She suffered a fateful childhood.

After école secondaire she worked as a waitress and sales assistant. At nineteen she freed herself from her social chains and moved to Germany.

Today, she lives in her own family and that of her second husband in Munich and works there as a nursery school teacher.

  1. The book written by Ouarda Saillo is one of the best books I have ever read in my life. It tought my heart and opened a new african world which was unknown for me. I could never imagine the horror some girls can live in and have no ability to do anything to change it. And I thank God for people such as Ouarda who can somehow help them, if not phisicly than at least moraly to strengthen their forse in fighting with this owfull sociaty.And I thank God for helping Ouarda to reach the better world and the better life.
